On January 24th, one of the UK’s most established drum and bass labels will be making its debut in our space. Fronted by dBridge, Exit Records has been instrumental in the growth of the drum and bass genre since its 2003 inception. A steady pace of releases has propelled the label to ever-more respected heights, a testament to dBridge’s musical ethos. As an artist, his productions are eclectic and diverse, while his talent for A&R has seen Exit nurture the careers of a selection of his contemporaries. From cold, bass-driven rollers to softly moving liquid, expect the full 360-degree spectrum of DnB on January 24th.
Having launched in 2003 with dBridge’s Libra / The Bride, the mid-to-late 2000s proved a pivotal period in the label’s growth. Calibre, Break, and Survival produced releases that are still a part of Exit’s fabric before a new generation of artists soon took the helm in the latter half of this decade. Most notable of these is Skeptical, who has carved out a bespoke signature in drum and bass with a selection of stunning Exit releases. We can not wait to have him return to our space.
dBridge himself leads proceedings, alongside the aforementioned Skeptical and another well-established expert: Jubei. A veteran of the scene, Jubei’s cold, stripped-back productions do precisely what they say on the tin. His rolling, minimal sound is the perfect accompaniment to our bespoke Wall of Sound, the ideal incubator for an incredible, no-holds-barred debut.
Workforce, Fixate, Iota, and Dolenz complete the billing. All renowned artists in their own right and having each released on the label, their calibre and standing holds them in great stead for January 24th. The-one-and-only SP:MC will be the only host for the evening. Less is more when it comes to drum and bass’ leading MC, and that’s exactly what we’re after.
